Direct Debit FAQs

We now take donations and subscriptions using GoCardless, a secure online Direct Debit provider.

Why does the NHA Party want me to pay by Direct Debit?

Taking payments by Direct Debit allows us to reduce costs, simplify our membership administration, and avoid fees going to organisations like PayPal.

Will you still accept paper direct debit forms and cheques?

We'd be really grateful if you would use our online Direct Debit form, which works in an identical manner to a paper form but greatly reduces our admin work. We're happy to accept occasional donations by cheque, but would ask you use direct debit for any regular subscriptions.

Is paying by Direct Debit safe?

We use GoCardless, a secure online Direct Debit provider. They are ISO 27001 certified, use 256-bit SSL encryption, and process data in accordance with European data protection laws.

Will you increase my payments without my knowledge?

No, of course not. At the time of writing, the NHA Party has never had to increase subscription rates, but if we ever did we would give you at least one month's notice, as per our constitution.

Will I be free to cancel the Direct Debit at any time?

Yes, and you don't even need to go through us to do so. Just talk to your bank or use online banking to cancel, and GoCardless will notify us so we can cancel your membership.

How do I cancel my existing PayPal subs/standing order?

See our help page on Cancelling a Subscription.
