This policy covers the data collected by the National Health Action Party, how it is used, how it is protected, and the users’ ability to control the collection and use of their personal data.

Data collection and use

We are the sole user of any information we collect. The National Health Action Party does not sell or disclose this information to outside organisations or individuals (other than any contractors or firms working on our behalf) except where you have signed a petition or similar, where the petition may be presented to a third party. You may be asked for personal information if you complete one of the forms on this site or contact us by phone, email or in writing. We describe below the information we ask for and how this information is used. In each case we will only use the information about you for the purpose for which you provide it.

Email services

When you subscribe to our email services, we collect your email address and postcode. This information is used to help us provide you with information to match your interests. We may also use it to alert you to campaigns you may be interested in and events happening in your area. This data will be used by ourselves and our agents.

Joining the Party and renewing your membership

We collect the personal information required in order to check you meet the conditions of membership of the National Health Action Party. At your option, we ask for additional information such as gender and date of birth to help us provide a better membership service to you. If you use a direct debit, credit or debit card to make a payment your details will be processed via the website of our payment processors, we do not record and you do not enter your card or banking details via our website.

Donations to the Party

When making a donation of over £500 we collect the personal information required to abide by legal and voluntary codes of conduct. If you use a direct debit, credit or debit card to make a payment we send the details to our payment processors, we do not keep your card or banking details ourselves. If you donate more than £7,500 to the Party, we are obliged to report such a donation to the Electoral Commission.

Under the Political Party Elections and Referendums Act 2000 (PPERA) you must be on the electoral register in the UK excluding the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man in order to make a donation of more than £500.

Donation information will be stored on our membership database and used at your option to keep you informed of National Health Action news, campaign and other opportunities to support the Party.

Our site may contains links to other sites and servers. The National Health Action Party is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such websites.

How we protect your information

Our IT services are hosted by a variety of third party service providers. We only entrust the data we collect to companies where we are satisfied their security measures to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of the information are of the highest international standards. The information you provide to us may be transferred to countries outside of the European Economic Area ("EEA"). For example, this may happen if one of our service providers is located in a country outside of the EEA. These countries may not have similar data protection laws to the EEA. If we transfer your information outside of the EEA in this way, we will make reasonable efforts within the limits of standard usage/license agreements with the providers to ensure that your privacy rights continue to be protected and used only in accordance with our instructions and for the purposes we have indicated to you at the time of collection of the data.
